While having coffee and checking Sensor Tower data this morning, I discovered mind-blowing statistics about Tea Dating Advice. The #2 overall US App Store and #1 Lifestyle category jumped 138 rankings in 6 days (July 15–21) with an almost vertical growth curve. Monthly revenue is $200k.

What caught my attention was that when I tried downloading Tea for research, I got the message: “This app is currently not available in your country or region.”

Eureka moment: An app of this calibre isn’t available in Indonesia yet!
I thought: “This is a massive opportunity. Indonesia’s market has millions of women who need dating safety, but there’s no proper local solution.”
Right then, I decided to experiment. Could I create an “Indonesian version” of Tea’s concept — quickly, without coding, using only AI assistance?
Spoiler alert: Yes. And I managed to build a complete prototype in 1 hour.
Why Indonesia Needs a “Local Tea”
After deep research on Tea, I realised apps like this truly need localised approaches. Tea focuses on:
Formal background checks with public records
Very open community forums
Integration with premium Western dating apps
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s online dating reality is very different:
WhatsApp and Instagram/Facebook DMs are starting points
People are more private and cautious about sharing
Family and social norms still heavily influence behaviour
Public records for background checks? Virtually non-existent
Overly open communities could backfire
Most importantly, Tea has caused a massive demand for dating safety tools. If it can rank #2 in the US App Store, in Indonesia, with 270 million people and high smartphone penetration, the potential is even greater.
Market validation already exists. It’s just about execution with culturally appropriate approaches.
ChatGPT as the Ultimate Co-Designer
Instead of jumping straight into coding (which I can’t do), I started with a simple conversation:
“I want to remix an app like Tea for the Indonesian market. Can you help break down the value proposition, target users, and core features?”
What happened next surprised me. ChatGPT didn’t just provide ideas, but honestly acted as a product designer:

Wrote PRD (Product Requirements Document)

2. Market Timing > Perfect Product
Tea proved that demand exists. RedFlag.bio just needs to ride the wave with faster execution for the Indonesian market.
3. AI Tools = Unfair Advantage ChatGPT + Bolt/Lovable combo in 1 hour produces output that usually takes teams 1–2 weeks. This is the new normal.
4. Local Market, Local Solution. Global success stories can be remixed for local markets. First-mover advantage is still highly relevant, especially in Indonesia (or your country).

RedFlag.bio is still a prototype — a one-hour experiment to prove that ideas can quickly become tangible products using AI tools.
